Hernandez will serve his life sentence at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution (MCI) — Cedar Junction at Warpole, a maximum-security prison just a 3.4-mile drive from Gillette Stadium — home of the Patriots.

Hernandez played three seasons for the Patriots after being selected in the fourth round of the 2010 draft. He finished his career with 175 receptions for 1,956 yards and 18 touchdowns.
